I was never a huge fan of the color pink, but in the last few years I have found my inner Princess. If I wear pink it would look a lot like this. This dress says, “I’m a Princess but I came to party”. The ruffled petal detailing is beyond fabulous and the black belt is the perfect punch of attitude. For $118 you too can be too cool for school.

If you’ve seen Sex and the City 2 you’ve likely seen this mesmerizing minaudiere before. Charlotte’s daughter was seen carrying around this Judith Leiber Strawberry Cupcake clutch. Being a born again magpie I’m attracted to anything shiny. When I first laid eyes upon this crystallized cake I almost wet myself. I don’t know whether to eat it or wear it – either way I love it! Now I can’t guarantee you can find one, as they were limited edition. But I can guarantee it’s the most expensive piece of sugar out there. It could be yours for a whopping $4,295. If that’s too sweet for your taste I recommend getting a similar, much cheaper version at Cupcakes that’s edible.

Last Saturday I was all alone, just me and the dog. So I did what any girl does when she’s all alone: ate poorly and watched trash TV. Not sure how this is different from any other night for me, but let’s pretend. I ate one of those chocolate chip muffins you buy at the grocery bakery; which I’m sure did more damage to the ever-growing muffin top I already have.
The only thing on TV was 17 Again with Zac Efron and Matthew Perry. I had pretty low expectations going in; but was quickly proved wrong. It was HILARIOUS! I’d never seen a Zac Efron movie, nor understood the fascination surrounding him; but I sure do now! Holy hell he’s hot! I feel dirty even writing this, isn’t he 16 or something? God I feel old; not that 17 was all that long ago but it was long enough. Speaking of which, when I was 17 my grad date and I made a pact we would marry one another if we were both alone at 30 – I’m going to his wedding next Friday. You think I could get Zac Efron to be my new back up? 30 is fast approaching and a girl always needs a backup. If my current boyfriend is reading this post I’d like to say I’m drunk.

OK so this bracelet looks a bit of a mess but when you put it on it looks spectacular. It’s all one piece and covers about 3inches of your wrist. I saw it in Vegas and was going to buy it, but figured I should try and buy something other than Juicy Couture jewelry. I’m sure you’ve realized by now how obsessed I am with the line. It was either the Tory Burch flats or the Juicy bracelet. I figured I’d get more use out of the shoes. But I will buy this gorgeous bracelet eventually. It has fabric ribbons, link chains, rhinestone beading, feather accents, a sea foam enameled chain (my favourite part) and a piston clasp. I love the clasp because it’s not used a lot these days; plus you feel safe the bracelet isn’t going to come undone. This Multi-chain feather bracelet from Juicy Couture goes for about $128 US.

I HATE coffee, I absolutely detest it. To me, coffee tastes like polluted water or engine oil. BLECH! I realize I’m in the minority when I write this so I’ll tread carefully. The only downside to travelling in America is they don’t do tea properly! The whole week all I wanted was a regular tea, orange pekoe. Some Tetley or Red Rose just a regular tea with some milk and sugar, no bells or whistles. I don’t know how many restaurants and cafes I went to that had no idea what I was talking about. Everything was ginger this and green tea that, peppermint passionfruit gobbledy guck. Moral of the story, pack the Tetley when going on vacation.

If you havn’t heard of Kris Van Assche you are missing out! He has his own line of fierce, unique clothing and accessories and is also the artistic director for Dior Homme. These shoes are one tiny example of his fiercely fabulous talent. I’m saving my pennies for these $770 leather heels and can’t stop thinking about how sexy they’d look matched with a pair of leggings. Like all the greats these shoes are made in Italy with impressive detailing.

I never leave the house without a pair of earrings. I’ve left the house without my wallet, my watch, my glasses, my car keys, my deodorant, even my bra (don’t judge it’s easily done). But I’ve NEVER left without putting on a pair of earrings, I feel so naked without them. I can only wear studs though as I have crooked piercings. (As if I wasn’t odd enough on my own). One ear has a higher piercing than the other. It’s very slight and barely noticeable but if I wear dangling earrings you can see it. So studs for me when comes to jewelry and men! If you want these I suggest picking them up in the States as Juicy Couture jewelry is usually half the price there. These delectable daisies are $42 US and are too adorable not to own. They come in white, lavender and pink and are perfect year round!

This week is all about my trip to Las Vegas. There are a lot of fantastical things about Vegas, but the best part is most definitely THE SHOPPING! I was blown away with the shops inside the hotels. At one point I was standing in front of a Christian Louboutin boutique, with Chloe to my left, Salvatore Ferragamo to my right and Barneys around the corner! After I got over my designer-induced aneurysm I decided to start spending my hard earned. My first purchase was this uber comfortable, uber chic fleece sweatshirt dress by James Perse. For $146 US I bought this dress in the charcoal grey color. Now this obviously isn’t suited for the hot Nevada weather; but it’s perfect for those chilly summer nights here in Vancouver. It hits right above the knees and goes great with a pair of boots or flats.

Whilst losing my shopping mind in the forum shops at Caesars Palace I realized that I had to get a pair of black flats. It was as if the man upstairs read my mind, loe and behold there was a Tory Burch boutique. Ten minutes and $243 US later I walked out of the boutique with these FABULOUS Abbey Banana flats. I’m a huge fan of Tory Burch, but I don’t like the big TB logo on the front of most of her shoes. As soon as I saw these Chanel-esque, elasticated, suede flats I was in love. The black patent leather capped toe and small gold logo detail at the heel sold me. I tried them on and admired the classic look in the mirror. My feet have never been happier!

So I wasn’t going to post anything today as I’m sunning it up in Las Vegas. But my best friend B. has been hassling me about this freaking double rainbow guy. Last week I was at her house to catch up and stuff my face full of candy and pizza. While we gossiped, ate and watched Tyra Banks make a fool of herself on television my girlfriend was telling me about this double rainbow guy on Youtube. This man videotapes a rainbow, a double rainbow no less, and basically freaks out about it. Pretty ridiculous. Click here to see what all the fuss is about. There is also a remix of this floating around the interweb, now THAT was hilarious. There B. are you happy now! Sheesh.

Although shoes are my first love I am also a bracelet junkie. I have drawers full of bracelets and I still keep buying more! I have a rather addictive personality, thank the Lord I found shopping before drugs! These Aztec Bangles are next on my shopping list. They are made by House of Harlow 1960 (a.k.a. Nicole Richie) and can be found at Holly Boutique in Gastown. You can visit their website at www.shopholly.ca. These Aztec bangles have a leather strap and a gold plated design; they come in 5 colors but you can find white and black at Holly Boutique right now for a modest $85.

This is the perfect clutch for those girls who want to be a bad ass with class. This Alexander McQueen (may he rest in fashionable peace) Knuckle Duster box clutch is $2,295 and can be purchased from Netaporter. The contrast of good and evil with the lace and skulls is very clever and totally cute. I find clutches are great but hard to hold at times. But not with this clutch, you just slide your fingers in the rings and you’re good to go. The best part is knowing you’re the most fashionable girl in the room and that you can render your date unconscience with one swift punch.

Ok so yes I am obsessed with Louboutin’s! I have been after these Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120 patent pumps for a few years now. I have almost bought them twice. The first time they didn’t have my size and the second time I chickened out. Spending $595 plus a ridiculous amount of tax is not something the average person can do – and as much as I hate to admit it, I am an average person (hard to believe I know). Although, when the dog gets sick the $600 is scraped up from somewhere. Anyways I love my dog, I love my life. Getting back to the shoes. Aren’t these the sexiest pumps you have ever seen?! I leave for Las Vegas in two days and my first stop will be the Louboutin boutique. They do say third time’s the charm…..

Remote controls are quickly becoming the bane of my existence. I have too many remotes, so many in fact I had to buy a decorative bowl to store them all in. My coffee table was looking too much like a computer lab. I have remotes for the TV, satellite box, stereo, dvd player, fan, fireplace. It’s so stupid. The worst part is replacing all the batteries! My boyfriend’s house is no better, he has one of those remotes that does everything; each button works a different electronic. THIS DOESN’T HELP! Now I have to remember which button does what. Does the power button turn on the TV, does the plus button turn on the PVR, the volume button turn on the Blu Ray? Don’t even ask me how to turn up the volume on the audio thingy. Too much to remember! I just want to watch my stories goddammit! Is that too much to ask?

I think every female in Vancouver has a pair of Hunter rain boots, if you’re ridiculous like me then you have two pairs. When you live in a city that has more rain than sunshine and a dog that likes to swim; rain boots are a must. Hunter rain boots are so great because they’re fashionable; they come in a myriad of colors and most importantly they actually keep the water out. I hate rain boots that aren’t waterproof. It’s like having an umbrella with a hole in it – what’s the point? Now I thought Hunter boots were pretty fashionable on their own. But they hooked up with Jimmy Choo awhile back to create these Crocodile print Wellington boots. Or as I like to call them – Dundee Wonders. They differ from regular Hunter boots in that they have a gold buckle fastening tab and of course leopard-print lining. You can find these boots online at NetaPorter for $425, they’re perfect year round – I just don’t recommend wearing them in any crocodile-infested waters.

OK so more House of Harlow 1960 accessories this week. These Sunburst bangles go for $99 each and can be found at Holly Boutiquein Gastown. I recommend getting the set, so much cuter when they’re stacked. These are thicker than your standard bangles, which I think makes them stand out from the rest. They come in three colors gold/black, gold/cream and silver/black. These would go beautifully with a long, flowy sundress.

I was in Paris a few summers’ ago and one sunny afternoon I walked past the famous Paul & Joe boutique and saw this TO DIE FOR emerald green satin opera coat in the window and had to have it. Of course, the only sizes left were for rather large opera goers; they only had a cream coat left in my size. Now I must have been on the emerald coat high still, because I purchased the €600 jacket. As soon as I got back to the hotel I regretted the purchase.
I returned to the boutique the following day and they refused to take it back. I threw a hissy fit and started yelling at the Manager. Finally they offered me store credit. Now the polite thing to do would have been to quickly find a dress or three and get the hell outta there. Well I’m not polite, I made those fockers bring me EVERY single thing in my size whether I intended to buy or not. I spent HOURS in there and enjoyed every minute of it. Once I saw they got my point it started to get funny.
I walked out with 3 pairs of Citizen of Humanity jeans that I absolutely adored and still wear today. The moral of this story is never trust the French; and if you end up getting screwed by them sink as low as you can to get your own back.

If I had to describe my personality with a shoe it would most definitely be the Marc Jacobs jester bootie. These shoes are just like me: outrageous, unexpected, glamorous and comfy with a touch of class. Throw pearls on anything and you’ve bumped it up a rung on the social ladder. These court jester style booties are a suede and leather combo and come in black and amber. FABOOSH! I’ve yet to see them in the stores, but they’re still new. I’ll be sunning it up in Las Vegas in two weeks and they’re the first thing on my shopping list. They’ll be the most expensive pair of slippers I’ll have ever bought. These booties are definitely out there and my co-workers will think I’m showing up to the office in my slippers. I have a feeling they’ll think I’m as big a fool as a real court jester. Oh well, I already own three pairs of Uggs -you can’t look like much more of a fool than that.
